The exhibition, attended by Dr. Lalith Chandradasa, Consul General of Sri Lanka in Los Angeles, aimed to promote tourism in Sri Lanka by showcasing its natural beauty, wildlife, cultural heritage, and history. The works of acclaimed photographers from Sri Lanka and the United States were featured, including Suriya Perera, president of the America Sri Lanka Photographic Art Society, who organized the first Sri Lankan Photographic Exhibition in the US. The event also addressed environmental issues, with Professor Glen MacDonald from UCLA delivering a presentation on Sri Lanka’s biodiversity, population growth, and climate change challenges. The exhibition also launched Suriya Jayalath Perera’s coffee table book, “Kingdom of Ruhuna: Home of the Yala National Park,” which explores the region’s fauna, flora, and historical ruins. Additionally, a collection of historical photographs showcasing the 75-year diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the US was on display.
