Deshapriya said that this draft report has been given to the political parties for their observations for more than three weeks and the public can also send their proposals to the committee from April 18 to April 25. “We can refer these proposals to the review committee with our observations thereafter,” he said.

A Bill should be brought in parliament for the implementation of this report”, he said

Deshapriya said that the Committee is expected to hand over the final report by May 2. He said that the delimitation committee report consists of three parts. “First part we are dealing with the procedures and proposals coming from different quarters from the society.

“The second category focuses on the number of members that each council should have, the names of the ward and the number of Grama Niladhari Divisions that constitute a ward, he said. He said that the third part is dealing with maps of each division.
