Sri Lanka DSI All island under 19 Best Attacker 2022, Sri Lanka DSI under 19 champion team member for the tour of Pokara, Nepal from January' 20 to 30 for four Nation Quadrangular tournament school under 16 champion athlete and school representive for the John Tarbet meet in 2018 Daham Chamika has brought honour and glory to his three schools Vijaya Maha Vidyalaya Chillaw, Madampa Central and St.Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa with his deeds in the field of sports.
Daham who hails from Kakapalliya, Madampe was born on February 02 2004 was admitted to his village school Vijaya Maha Vidyalaya Chillaw in 2010 and from grade three to eight he did athletics and participated in the school annual sports meets came first in High Jump in the under 13 category and came first at the Divisional meet too he came first and at the Zonal meet he was unsuccessful.
Then in 2018 his mother Prema Nandani admitted her son to Madampa Central College in the hope of improving her son's athletic career and he came under Miss Daya and R. Ekanayake and he did strenuous practices in High Jump under M. Chandana and at the John Tarbet meet held in 2018 at Polonnaruwa Daham reached the qualifying height and in 2016 he was the school champion athlete and in the 2020 sports meet he did High Jump and Triple Jump and came first in the Divisional and Zonal meets.
In 2020 he passed the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) with flying colours and was drafted to St. Joseph Vaz College and commenced volleyball under Gemunu Kumara and Nishan Indika and in 2022 Vazians were the DSI Divisional, Zonal, District and Provincial Champions and in the All Island schools tournament they were the Runner up and in the All Island DSI under 19 finals held on December 4, 2022 they beat Davi Samara Vidyalaya to clinch the all island under 19 DSI championship and Daham was adjudged as the Best Attacker in under 19 age group and with this win the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation awarded Vazians a tour to Pokara Nepal.
