The Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar yesterday lifted the travel ban imposed on Trade, Commerce and Food Security Minister Nalin Fernando to participate in a trade conference which is to be held in India, representing Sri Lanka.

The case was taken up before the Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar bench comprising High Court judges Amal Ranaraja (President),

Pradeep Hettiarachchi and Mahen Weeraman.

When the case was taken up before the court yesterday, President’s Counsel Anil Silva appearing for the accused sought from the court to lift the travel ban imposed against his client from February 15 to February 24 to participate in a trade conference in India.

The case will be taken up again on February 27 for further trial and summons were issued to prosecution witnesses 28 and 29 to appear before the court on that day.
