Opener Nishan Madushka finished an unbeaten 150, and wicketkeeper Lahiru Udara missed out on a well-deserved century as he was dismissed for 93 as Sri Lanka Cricket President's XI declared their innings on 355/9 in reply to England Lions' score of 413 for 8 wickets in their second day of the three-day warm-up game which played at R.Premadasa yesterday.

It was a superb batting performance by Ragama CC wicketkeeper and batsman Nishan Madushka who stroked 24 fours and a six in his 157-ball innings but was forced to retire hurt. The former Moratuwa MV player who completed a thousand runs at the last Three-day Major Clubs tournament once again reminded national selectors of his capabilities with the bat. He played in a more aggressive mood to complete his century before lunch with a mighty six off the bowling of England Lions off spinner Liam Patterson.

At lunch, President's XI had lost only Lahiru Udara's wicket but were in a strong position with the score on 263/3. Udara missed his century by seven runs when he was caught by Nathan Gilchrist off Jack Carson. Udara who is the wicket-keeper of the side played a good innings hitting 13 fours and 2 sixes.

Both Madushka and Udara added 170 runs for the third wicket but the rest of the batsmen were unable to perform well. Skipper Sahan Arachchige scored 25 and Dunith Wellalage scored 13 and others were unable to impress with the bat. Liam Patterson and Jos Tongue took three wickets each and Jack Carson took 2 for 73.

At close, England Lions in their second innings were struggling on 164 for 8 wickets while skipper Sahan Arachchige and Nimesh Vimukthi took two wickets each.

Today is the third and final day of this warm-up game.
