Three acre plot with Rs.30 mn worth cannabis found in Thanamalwila

Thanamalwila Police officers succeeded in arresting three suspects together with 400 kilos of dried cannabis at Nikawewa,Thekkawatte in the Thanamalwila police division.

Police said that the value of this stock of cannabis is more than Rs.30 million and it was being dried and packed ready to be transported.

This raid had been carried out on a tip-off received by the Thanamalwila Officer-In-Charge Chief Inspector Bandara and this stock of cannabis had been cultivated on a land of three acres in extent.

The raid had been carried out when the cannabis had been cut and dried and was being packed into polythene bags.
