Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will announce how it will contest the upcoming LG Polls after a meeting with members of the new political alliance ‘Nidahas Janatha Sandanaya’ today SLFP members said.
The SLFP yesterday held a special meeting to discuss the matter and decisions taken during the meeting will be conveyed to other political parties in the ‘Nidahas Janatha Sandanaya”, today, ‘Nidahas Janatha Sandanaya Secretary Thilanga Sumathipala said. Meanwhile, SLFP Secretary General Dayasiri Jayasekera MP said there are requests from the party membership for SLFP to contest under the hand symbol in areas such as Polonnaruwa and North and East.
The new alliance ‘Nidahas Janatha Sandanaya’ earlier said it will contest the Local Government election under helicopter symbol.
