A leadership training workshop for the managers of ANCL was held at the Lake House Media Academy auditorium last Wednesday.

It was conducted by Ajith Siyambalapitiya, General Manager of Human Resources Operations at a renowned apparel exporting company in Sri Lanka.

Royal College is his alma mater and Siyambalapitiya earned his MSc in Management from the Kotelawala Defence University. He had served in the Sri Lanka Army for 22 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and was the Commanding Officer of first Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.

Currently he holds several positions such as the Secretary General of National Association of Fencing in Sri Lanka, Vice President of Association of Fencing in South Asia and the Immediate Past President of National Association of Fencing in Sri Lanka.

The workshop was focused on how managers should use their human resources management knowledge and traits to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their subordinates by promoting win–win situations in problem solving and how they could contribute to make a happy working environment within the institution.

This pilot workshop was organized by the Human Resources Department, under the concept of the Director Legal and Administration of ANCL, Attorney-at-Law Janaka Ranathunga.
