The Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division under the guidance and coordination of Directorate of Training of the Sri Lanka Army Brigadier Kapila Dolage held a specially-designed full-day training workshop on ‘Leadership’ for 127 school prefects of Grade 09,10 and 11 recently at Mattegoda Engineers’ ‘Sappers’ Leisure Bay’, on a request of the Principal of Piliyandala Central College,.
The Army Commander has given his blessings and guidance to the project, meant to cultivate and increase leadership qualities of youngsters that would enable them to face challenges and develop their talents and skills with discipline.
During the leadership programme, students were educated on the improvement to traits of leadership, social discipline, skill development and the way to challenge the challenges among others in addition to some practical leadership-building modules.
The programme continued under the close supervision of Engineer Division General Officer Commanding Major General Lanka Amarapala, Colonel General Staff Colonel Pradeep Siriwardena and Commanding Officers of 14 CBRN of the SLE.
The certificate awarding ceremony for the prefects got underway at the end of the programme and General Officer Commanding the Engineer Division Major General Lanka Amarapala graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Principal at Piliyandala Central College and teachers were present.
