He was also named the Best Emerging Player of the LPL tournament. He finished as the 4th highest wicket-taker of the tournament. Vijayakanth

said his getting BPL chance is a big boost to his career. Actually I finished a very successful England league cricket tournament before the LPL which paved the way to get more confidence throughout the LPL tournament.

We lacked facilities at Jaffna during our school days but when I came to club cricket at Tamil Union club I used to get more facilities. Actually, I couldn't perform well in the domestic tournament and very difficult to find a place on the Tamil Union division one team.

However, with my recent performance, I hope to gain a place in the Tamil Union team for the future domestic performance said Vijayakanth.

Our team manager Harry Vageeshan encouraged me at Tamil Union while Tamil Union club management especially Prakash Schaffter gave good best support to build up my career. My ultimate goal is to represent the National team said Vijayakanth.

The 9th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League will be held from January 6 to February 16, 2023. in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.
