President ready to reintroduce DDCs in place of PCs

President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (29) said he is ready to reintroduce District Development Councils (DDCs) in place of Provincial Councils (PCs). The President made this observation in Parliament    when former President Maithripala Sirisena proposed the setting up of District Councils. “I listened to the former President’s comments on District Development Councils and I am ready to do it,” the President said. Former President Sirisena said that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party will fully support the arrangement.
