Special gazette notifications issued

Special gazette notifications have been issued including the responsibilities and duties assigned to ten state ministers.

This is relevant to Minister of State for Health Sita Arambepola, Minister of State for Indigenous Medicine Sisira Jayakodi, Minister of State for Power and Energy D.V. Chanaka, Minister of State for Power and Energy Indika Anuruddha, Minister of State for Mass Media Shantha Bandara, Minister of State for Transport Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Minister of State for Highways Siripala Gamlath, Minister of State for Rural Development Chandrakananthan Sivanesathurai, Minister of State for Education and Youth Affairs Rohana Dissanayake and Minister of State for Water Supply Sanath Nishantha.

This has been issued by the Cabinet Ministers of the relevant ministries stating the subjects, tasks, departments, state corporations and institutions and the laws and ordinances to be implemented.

Import of fuel and aviation fuel under Ceylon Petroleum Limited Corporation/ Ceylon Petroleum Wholesale Terminal Company, fuel ordering, establishment of new refineries in the country, upgrading of Trincomalee Petroleum Tank Complex, LNG Projects and implementation of energy projects needed by the country have been assigned to the Minister of State for Power and Energy D.V. Chanaka.

Indika Anuruddha, the Minister of State for Power and Energy, has been entrusted with the task of creating and supervising a solar panel programme for low-income families and religious shrines and generating electricity through rooftop solar panels.

Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Rohana Dissanayake has been entrusted with 12 tasks including implementation of a programme that provides facilities including proper nutrition and training to identify children, who are talented in sports in rural schools spread across the island from an early age and bring their skills to international level.

Siripala Gamlath and Chandraakanthan Sivanesathurai have been entrusted with the task of guiding the respective state ministries to create a coherent modern road system.

The Minister of State for Mass Media has been entrusted with the tasks of developing the knowledge, attitude and taste of the people to contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of the mass media.
