HELP-O (Human and Environment Link Progressive Organization), a Non-Governmental Organization in Galle has been elected for two co-lead positions for the SDG and Climate Change at the 9th Congress of CityNet Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia during September 20-23.

The quadrennial event had been organised in conjunction with the 35th Anniversary of the CityNet Congress and the 50th Jubilee. The 9th CityNet Congress focused on the theme, ‘City for All: Activating Access for Urban Grow’.

CityNet, which was established in 1987, is the largest association of urban stakeholders who are committed to sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region.

The 9th CityNet Congress was a unique opportunity to build Asia-Pacific regional partnerships, identify opportunities to colloborate and share best governing practices in a broad range of urban development goals. HELP-O has been a member of CityNet since 1999.

It has gained major achievements during the last 25 years on climate change mitigation and sustainable development. It will implement a three-year plan for experience sharing and projects in different cities in the Asia Pacific region.
