Retirement for SOE employees at 60

Cabinet approval has been granted to revise the retirement age of employees in State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to 60 years, Cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena said. Addressing the media yesterday at the Government Information Department, Minister Gunawardena said that as it was proposed by the Supplementary Budget 2022 in Parliament a decision has been taken to revise the compulsory retirement age of employees in SOEs.

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval to the proposal submitted by President Ranil Wickremesinghe as Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies Minister will issue the circular in this regard to be effective from January 1, 2023.
