Man who sold land on fake deed arrested

The officers of the Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested a person who tried to sell a land not  owned by him for Rs.100 million after preparing fraudulent documents and deeds.

Police say that the person who was interested in buying the land had paid an advance amount of Rs.50 million.

The person who was ready to buy the land after giving the advance amount had made a complaint to the Criminal Investigation Department after he found the documents were fake.

The 52 year old suspect, a resident of Erawwala, Pannipitiya involved in this fraud,was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department and he is to be produced in courts.
