TheTrinity College Hockey Foundation headed by Deva Ellepola are giving their best for the game and this year Trinity College celebrates their 75th year in hockey and this is the schools 150th year
The game of hockey has been part of the extra curriculum and has produced some of the best who have played the game in the country. In the year 2008 a group of Old boys who have been Hockey players during their time in college, rallied around to support the game. And with the positive impact it brought the Trinity Hockey Foundation, was established in 2015 under the guidance of Paul Jeyaraj and some senior old boys.
From then on as a formal body under the Old boys Association of Trinity College, theTrinity Hockey Foundation has been an integral part of Trinity Hockey for more than a decade It revived House matches and has initiated various hockey related events to ensure the game gets on its feet again and bring glory. Events such as , Trinity v Royal Encounter, Trinity v S. Thomas Encounter, High performance Coaching Camps, Inter House Matches, Trinity 6's Tournament. have. created more interest amongst students
Walala A. Ratnayake Central Champions
Walala A. Ratnayake Central College Manikhinna has made Kandy district proud by winning the All Island John Tarbet Championship girls event, This school have been doing well in athletics for years. It was the 90th All Island John Tarbet Championship The relay team of Walala A. Ratnayake Central College broke the record of the women’s under 20 400*4 final. [Timing – 3.57.86 min].
Schools rugby sevens in Kandy
The inter schools under 19 seven a side rugger tournament will take place on 1st and 2nd of October at NIttawela grounds, with over thirty five teams from the country in action and is organized by the schools rugby section. All Kandy schools are hard at training and sure to give their best and make this tournament a good one
Trinity win over St.Sylvester’s in Football
Trinity College football teams of 1st XI, Under 18 and Under 16 beat St. Sylvester’s College,All matches were played at the Trinity College rugby grounds at Pallekelle. Under 16 Trinity won 3-0 the goal scorers were M A Shan (2 goals)and F M yousuf (1 goal). Under 18 Trinity won 3-1 goal scorers Janith Warnakula(2 goals), and Akshee Mahadivulvewa (01 goal). 1st XI Trinity won 4-0 goal scorers Rasodh Kumaratunga (2 goals) , Yevan Hulangamuwa (01 goal) and Mohammed Imadh (01 goal).
