The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday said that a two-storied luxury house worth about Rs.30 million built in the Polgasowita area belonging to drug trafficker and organised criminal Kudu Salindu, has been located.Police said the wife of a close associate of Kudu Salindu who was residing in the house had been taken into custody. Last January, the Police Anti-Narcotics Bureau had arrested Muthu Nayaka Gedera Mahinda Kumara alias Galaha Kumara with 22 grams of heroin in the Kesbewa area.
During questioning, he had revealed that the drugs belonged to Kudu Salindu. A Police officer said that the house at Halpita School Lane in Polgasowita had been bought in the name of the mother of the suspect who was arrested.When the female suspect who was taken into custody was questioned, Police said she revealed information regarding two more lands purchased using money earned through drug dealing and two more houses that are under construction.
The Illegal Assets Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department is conducting investigations.
