Chandana Amaratunga inducted President JASTECA

The 36th Annual General Meeting of the Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) was held at the Main Ballroom, Galadari Hotel, Colombo and Chandana Amaratunga was inducted as the President for the period 2022-2024.

In his address to the membership, the new president touched on his belief in the vision and mission of JASTECA and pledged to focus efforts to build cultural, business and trade relationships between Sri Lanka and Japan, whilst contributing to the economic and social development of our country. Sri Lankan organizations, over the years have implemented and greatly benefited from Japanese management programs and exposure to Japanese industry best practices.

He further mentioned that, JASTECA’s unique portfolio of Japanese Language Education Association [JLEA], JASTECA Institute of Management [JIM], Madam Kiyoko Ogawa Scholarship Program, 5S/Kaizen/CSR competition will be revamped to heralding in a new age and take JASTECA to even greater heights. The new executive committee brings in innovative thinking and experience in varied fields to further expand JASTECA’s portfolio in transforming business management through AI-IoT, Lean management, strategic CSR projects and cultural activities.

Mizukoshi Hideaki Ambassador to Japan in Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Dian Gomes delivered the keynote address.
