The 63rd death commemoration of former Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike will take place today. Sri Lanka Freedom Party founder S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike became the fourth Prime Minister of the country by winning the 1956 general election with an overwhelming majority.
SLFP chairman and former President Maithripala Sirisena will garland the statue of the late Prime Minister at the BMICH today at 9 a.m. for the 63rd death commemoration. Party General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekera and senior party members will participate.
