Nandasena was one of the best cricket captains produced by Isipathana

Burly K. H. Nandasena was one of the best cricket captains produced by Isipathana College in nineteen seventies. He was the architect of the first big match win for Isipathana College in 1973. He was a right hand batsman known for his big hitting, and a left arm spinner.

The big match winning team comprised K. H. Nandasena (Captain), Nimal Luxman (Vice Captain), Lanka Perera, Suren Perera, Bandula Manamperi, W. K. Botheju, Amal Senankadikara, Kolitha Ranasinghe, A. J. Rumy, Ajith Kulasinghe, Asoka De Silva H. Rasadeen.

After a successful school cricket season he led the B. R. C. team and beat S.S.C.to enter the final in the Sara trophy played at S. S. C. ground. They played final against N. C. C. (led by Ranjith Fernando) in that year.

Later he coached Isipathana which beat Thurstan in the 50 over game, and beat Ananda convincingly in the their group limited over match. He was later involved in cricket administration, as match referee, member of the school selection committee, and umpires committee.

His brother late K. H. Jayasiri was in the Sri Lanka Basketball team and played as second row in the Isipathana first fifteen Rugby Team.

His nephew late Harsha Deepal stylish left hand batsman and right arm medium pace bowler, captained Isipathana team in 1980, He joined the Colts Cricket Club for a few years. Harsha played for Sri Lanka under23 team with his team mates, S. H. U. Karnaim (Double International) Oscar Wanigaskeara. His family donated the Harsha Deepal Memorial trophy for the man of the match in the big match against Thurstan
