Probe into helmet attack on State Minister

The Badulla Police have started an investigation regarding an incident where two persons  insulted and assaulted the Primary Industries Minister, Chamara Sampath Dasanayake at Badulla Bandaranaike Mawatha Monday (19) evening. The Badulla police said that the state minister was attacked with a motorcycle helmet.

The attack took place when the state minister had stopped his car near the shop belonging to a member of the local council in Badulla and was engaged in a conversation.

The two men who were under the influence of alcohol had begun an argument with the state minister, police said.
