The promising Dinara de Silva produced another fine performance to complete a grand double at the 107th Senior National Tennis Championships, which continued at the SLTA Clay Courts in Green Path yesterday.
The schoolgirl from St. Bridget’s Convent, came from behind with a tremendous performance to beat Vishmi Serasinghe in the Girls’ Under-18 Singles final having earlier clinched the Girls’ Under-16 Singles title as well.
Even then, at one stage it looked as if the match was slipping away from her hands after having conceded the first set to her opponent 2-6 following a close contest.
Thereafter, Dinara settled well and made amends to snatch the second set 6-2 and went on to add the finishing touches with a 6-3 triumph in the third and deciding set.
