Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka Mizukoshi Hideaki, attended the ceremony held by the Lanka Nippon Biz Tech Institution (LNBTI) in Maharagama to celebrate the accreditation of the LNBTI as a degree-awarding institute on September 15.
The LNBTI was set up in 2016 as a joint venture between two companies, Metatechno in Japan and hSenid in Sri Lanka, and it is the only higher education institute in Sri Lanka that provides education oriented specialists for the Japanese job market. It is unique in that it develops human resources that well-suited for the Japanese society by teaching not only IT but also Japanese language and Japanese business culture.
In his remarks, Ambassador Mizukoshi extended his warm congratulations to the LNBTI for having been accredited as a degree-awarding institute in the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Sri Lanka by pointing out that LNBTI’s efforts would eventually create a win-win situation for both countries by providing IT human capital in Japan and revitalising Sri Lankan economy through earning foreign currency. He also said that LNBTI graduates would become goodwill ambassadors in the future and elevate Japan–Sri Lanka relations to a next level, expanding the relationship in IT and beyond.
