Thera ready to allocate temple for ‘Nedungamuwe Raja’

Chief Sanghanayake of Ratnapura District Ven. Waturakumbure Dhammarathana Thera yesterday said that a suitable place can be given at either Nelligala or Kuragala Buddhist temple premises to keep the body of the tusker Nadungamuwa Raja, which is being preserved.

There was a discussion regarding the location where the preserved body of the tusker is kept. The tusker carried the casket of the Sacred Tooth Relics at the annual Esala Perahara in Kandy for years.

The Thera said that a place can be allocated in one of these temples to keep the body of the tusker which had rendered immense service to the country.
