South Korea rout Sri Lanka 6-0 in AFC Qualifier

Sri Lanka suffered a humiliating 0-6 defeat at the hands of South Korea in their AFC Under-20 Asian Cup Qualification Group ‘E’ opening fixture played at the MFF Football Centre, Ulaanbaatar Ground in Mongolia yesterday. South Korea’s victory in this game was never in doubt once they had built up a commanding 3-0 lead at half time.

In fact, Sri Lanka conceded their first goal as early as in the second minute of play with H. I. H. Imadaulla scoring from a corner, followed by two goals from Y. Lee in the 26th and 45th minute respectively.South Korea added three more goals to their tally in the second half through J. Lee (47th minute), S. Jung (70th minute) and D. Hwang (76th minute) respectively. Sri Lanka’s second match of the tournament will be against Malaysia on September 16 and their third and final Group ‘E’ game will be against the host nation Mongolia on September 18.
