Bourse remains in the green with heavy foreign buying

Colombo bourse remained in the green territory amidst heavy foreign buying and local investor interest on large cap stocks. Thus, All-Share Price Index  increased by 61.6 points (+0.7%) to close at 9,316.5 for the day whilst S&P SL20 Index also gained by 4.5 points (+0.1%) to close at 3,009.6. LOLC Finance, Senkadagala Finance, Browns Investments, LOC Holdings, Lanka IOC and Aitken Spence and Aitken Spence remained as the top positive contributors to the ASPI during the day. Further, broader market’s total turnover stood at Rs. 4,208.7 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of Rs. 4,449.2 mn, whilst the volume traded for the day was 144,560.5k against the 12-month average daily volume of 211,401.8k. Capital Goods and Diversified Financials mostly contributed to yesterday’s turnover.

Foreigners recorded a net inflow of Rs. 525.7 mn yesterday. Foreign purchases stood at Rs. 807.2 mn whilst total foreign sales amounted to Rs.281.5 mn.
