The Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry requests the public to state their phone number, WhatsApp number and email address along with their contact address in order to avoid delays in obtaining information requested from government institutions.
The main purpose of this is to avoid possible delays in sending the requested information by post.
These facts were revealed when the President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake and the Secretaries of the Ministries met at the President’s Office yesterday (2).
The President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake informed all Secretaries of Ministries that it is the prime responsibility of all the ministries and government officials to work for the convenience of the public and that it is mandatory to create a response programme in all the ministries and government institutions by providing an efficient service without inconveniencing anyone.
The public are informed to follow this step when requesting information from the Presidential
Secretariat, and since 2019, the Presidential Senior Assistant Secretary (Legal) Sisira Henadhira has been acting as its Information Officer. Dr.Sulakshana Jayawardena, Additional Secretary to the President, functions as the designated officer.
