The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) have recorded statements from former Minister Gamini Lokuge and MP Jayantha Ketagoda into setting fire and damage caused to Parliamentrian’s houses on May 9.
Statements have been recorded from eight persons following notice issued by the Human Rights Commission.
The houses of certain Parliamentarians were attacked and their property set on fire on May 9. The Commission had received around 100 complaints of arson and vandalism due to acts of violence across the country and the investigation of those complaints began from August 27.
