Minor flood threat in Kalutara

 A considerable rainfall has occurred in Upstream catchment areas of Kuda Ganga Sub Basin of Kalu River as of 7.00 pm yesterday, the Disaster Management Centre in a release.

Analyzing the current rainfall situation and river water levels of hydrological stations in Kuda Ganga, there is a possibility of a minor flood situation occurring in low lying areas of Kuda Ganga valley situated in Palindanuwara and Bulathsinhala D/S Divisions, the release said.

Residents in the area are requested to pay high attention in this regard and vehicle drivers running through those areas. Disaster Management Authorities are requested to take adequate precautions in this regard.
