The Batticaloa District Compost Fertilizer Laboratory installed by the Provincial Agriculture Department under the Sustainable Agriculture Project implemented on the concept of Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath was opened by the Governor on Tuesday (30).
The project costs Rs. 5 million. This new testing centre is located in the Service Training Institute in the Karadianaru area belonging to the Provincial Agriculture Department.
This centre conducts 10 types of compost-related surveys and the reports will be provided within three weeks.
In the future, these test centres are to be constructed in the districts of Trincomalee and Ampara.
