Two drug peddlers arrested in Rajagiriya

The Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested two suspects including a female drug smuggler known as ‘Kudu Batti’ along with nearly 52 grams of heroin at Kotte Road, Rajagiriya yesterday.

According to the police, the female suspect is said to be a leading member of the drug network of the underworld kingpin Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne alias ‘Harak Kata’.

They have been arrested while in possession of 51g and 600mg of heroin worth over Rs.1.5 million.

The arrested are in the ages of 34 and 40 (female). They are residents of the Rajagiriya and Tangalle areas, police said.

The STF have handed over the suspects to Welikada Police for further investigations.
