IUSF activists taken on Tuesday bailed

Twenty eight IUSF activists who were arrested by the Police during the protest march in Maradana have been released on bail after  being produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s court yesterday.

The IUSF held a protest last afternoon in Colombo protesting against the repressive campaign of the Government and the detention of the activists of the IUSF Wasantha Mudalige, Hashan Jeewantha, and Ven. Galwewa Siridhamma Thera for 90 days under the PTA. The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for September 23.

A group of lawyers including President’s Counsels Saliya Peiris and M.A Sumanthiran appeared on behalf of the suspects.
