Two held for robbery

Mulleriyawa Police arrested two suspects who allegedly broke into a storage room of the Mulleriyawa Hospital and stole property stored there.

The police arrested the two suspects on Monday (29) after they conducted investigations into a complaint received from the hospital. The stolen goods were also seized by the police.

The suspects stole four boxes of welding rods, 41 tread bars, four cans of paint, five kilos of gum bottles, nine PVC pipes, 50 anchor bolts, one cutting wheel pack, nuts and bolts, iron nails and iron washers.

The suspects are 31 and 36 and are residents of the Angoda and Mulleriyawa areas.

The suspects have been remanded until September 13, after being produced before the Aluhtkade No. 8 Court.
