Akuressa Police said that a person who sold heroin by getting money transferred through the eZ Cash system and bank accounts was arrested on Tuesday (30).
The police had received information that the suspect, a 42-year-old married resident of Akuressa Paraduwa area, was selling drugs and getting the money transferred through the eZ Cash system and bank accounts.
The suspect was arrested by the police who made a phone call and deposited Rs. 2,000 in his bank account.
At that time, 2,300 mgs of heroin, which was to be sold, was also taken into police custody.
On the same day, two persons in Akuressa, Panadugama, were arrested on suspicion of having 2,250 mgs of heroin for sale.
On Tuesday (30), after being produced before the Matara Magistrate’s Court all three suspects were remanded.
