Protest site left with less than 20 persons now

The Galle Face protest site has been reduced to less than 20 activists as of yesterday evening after police informed them to vacate the area by Wednesday midnight. Protesters in groups began vacating the site with the police informing them to vacate the area before August 10 or face legal action.

There were only six tents at the site by yesterday evening and four among them were very tiny tents in which only two persons can be accommodated.

Those who remained at the protest site said that they were the real strugglers.

They alleged those who left the area betrayed the struggle.
