Sammanthurai Sports Club, Sammanthurai beat Holly Heroes Sports Club, Sainthamaruthu in the final to emerge champions and bagged the Leech Fowzy Memorial Trophy’ of the Flying Horse Super Smash T-20 Hardball Blast-2022 tournament conducted by Flying Horse Sports Club, Sainthamaruthu at the Sainthamaruthu united public grounds recently.
Sainthamaruthu Flying Horse Sports Club President and Retired Principal I.L.A.Majeed organized the tournament to mark the completion of forty years of the club.
Altogether 32 prominent teams from the region participated at this tournament. Sammanthurai SC, won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 131 runs for loss of nine wickets in their allocated 20 overs. Sifan -38 and Jabirkhan -20.
In bowling Raspaas, Rafshan and Aslam of Sainthamaruthu Holly Heroes SC each claimed 02 wickets. In reply Sainthamaruthu Holly Heroes SC, scored 95 runs in 16.1 overs all out. Nifras -23. Rikas and Farsath of Sammanthurai SC claimed three wickets. each Kalmunai Municipality former Mayor Siraz Meerasahib participated as the Chief Guest at the award ceremony.
Winners were awarded Trophy and Rs.50,000.00 cash prize and trophy by the chief guest and the Sainthamaruthu Holly Heroes Sports Club was awarded a cash prize and trophy.
