Lanka IOC provides essential medicines to CSTH, Kalubowila

The challenging economic situation has severely affected the medical supplies in the country. With steep rise in inflation the Cost of Living has significantly increased specially for the lower-income groups of the society. Lanka IOC has always been sensitive towards the social needs and always intend to contribute towards the social upliftment through all possible means.

In this direction, LIOC, a member of Indian CEO Forum, has contributed medicines worth of Rs.2 Million to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital, specially for the Kidney and Epileptic disease patients. MD - Platinum Realty Investments Kishore Reddy was present on the occasion representing Indian CEO Forum.The ceremony to present the medicines took place recently.

Managing Director, Lanka IOC PLC Manoj Gupta said “We express our sincere gratitude to management of the Colombo South Teaching Hospital for giving us this noble opportunity and assure them of our best possible assistance in future as well.”

He also emphasised the need for a healthy society particularly during this hour when the country would need contribution and efforts from all its citizens to march towards a better tomorrow.

The Colombo South Teaching Hospital (CSTH), Kalubowila is the second largest Government hospital in the Colombo District. The hospital has a bed strength of 1,110 with 3,000 staff involved in patient care. It provides treatment to about 150,000 inward patients and 750,000 out patients and 72,000 clinic and OPD patients per year. The hospital is also equipped with Intensive Care Units for Medical, Surgical and Neonatal patients. There is also an acupuncture centre located within the hospital premises training and serving local and foreign individuals, even though it has no affiliation to the hospital.

Lanka IOC is operating with strong fundamentals and always endeavours to connect with the society on regular basis through various CSR activities by way of unique and effective projects that add value to the society. LIOC has also started supplies of diesel to exporters in its endeavour to ensure regular fuel for the export sector which is most crucial source for earning foreign exchange for the country. LIOC has been regular importer of Gasoil and Gasoline for the country with the assistance of Central Bank of Sri Lanka in managing the funding requirements.
