The SLAF’s Fallen War Heroes Commemoration Ceremony 2022 was held on June 24, under the patronage of Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana at the Sri Lanka Air Force War Heroes Monument, SLAF Trade Training School, Ekala.
The Air Force Commander offered the first floral tribute at the memorial in memory of the supreme sacrifice made by the SLAF patriots.
The event was attended by Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Members of the Air Force Board of Management, Commanding Officer SLAF Trade Training School, Ekala, Senior Officers, Command Master Warrant Officer, Others Ranks.
Subsequently an all night pirith chanting ceremony was held on the same day by Deputy Incumbent of Ramanna Chapter, Ven. Nedagamuwe Vijaya Maithri Thera and the Ven. Maha Sangha, which was attended by the Air Force Commander, Deputy Chief of Staff, Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Charmini Pathirana, Members of the Air Force Board of Management and their spouses, all Officers and Other Ranks of the Trade Training School, Ekala.
The pirith chanting was followed by an almsgiving which was accorded to the Venerable Maha Sangha on June 25 morning.
