Businessman conceals over Rs. 500,000 worth of diesel

A businessman who had concealed a consignment of diesel worth more than Rs. 500,000 in Makumbura, Homagama, was arrested by the Western Province (South) Criminal Investigation Division.

The Police also seized 1,400 litres of diesel concealed at his residence. He had concealed diesel in two 500 litre water tanks, and two 200 litre water tanks.

He had kept those tanks in the upper storey of his house.

The police raided his house on a tip-off that he was selling the diesel at a higher rate. The suspect and the production were to be produced before the Homagama Magistrate.
