UDA to conduct mobile services at district level

The Urban Development Authority (UDA) will conduct mobile services at district level to provide solutions for several unresolved key issues with regard to the local government authorities in the country.

The programme will be implemented on the instructions of the Urban Development and Housing Minister, Prasanna Ranatunga.

Accordingly, arrangements have been made to conduct this mobile service in order to expedite the approval process of plans submitted by Municipal Councils, Urban Councils and Pradeshiya Sabhas which have not yet been approved by the UDA. The programme will be conducted covering all districts from June to August 18.

The mobile service is scheduled to commence on June 28 in the Trincomalee District of the Eastern Province and it will remain both June 29 and June 30 in the same Province.

The mobile service will be implemented in Wayamba on July 06 and July 07 and in the Western Province on July 11, 12, 14 and 19. The mobile service will be implemented in the Central Province on July 20 and 21 and Southern Province on July 25, 26 and 27.

The mobile service will be available in the North Central Province on July 27 and 28, in the Sabaragamuwa Province on August 03 and 04, in the Northern Province on August 09 and 10 and in the Uva Province on August 17 and 18.

The mobile service will end from Moneragala District on August 18.

Special attention will be paid to the problems of development projects implemented by the UDA in the relevant local government areas.
