The promising women's cricketer Vishmi Gunaratne was once again included in the Sri Lanka women's team for the upcoming Indian cricket series.Vishmi Gunaratne the 16 year old inform batter was out of the last Pakistan tour due to her O/ L exam came back to the team . Vishmi Gunaratne from Ratnawali BMV Gampaha made a record knock of 417 at the last domestic tournament and her presence will strengthen the Sri Lanka women's team.

The experienced all rounder Chamari Atapattu once again will lead the Sri Lanka women's cricket team during their T 20 and ODI’ series against touring India team which will commence on June 23 at Dambulla International cricket stadium.

Sri Lanka women's Cricket Selection Committee selected the 19-member women’s squad to compete in the T20I and ODI series of the ‘India Women’s Tour of Sri Lanka The tour consists of three T20Is and three ODIs and will be played at Dambulla International cricket stadium and Pallekele International cricket stadium.

Meanwhile Indian Women's Cricket Team under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur arrived in Sri Lanka . A young Indian team will play their matches at Pallekele and Dambulla respectively in the absence of senior players like Mithali Raj, who has announced her retirement, and veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami. Harmanpreet has been appointed the captain of the side in the ODIs after Raj's retirement while Smriti was named her deputy. The Indian team is coached by Ramesh Power while Sri Lanka team coached by Hashan Tillekarathne .
