Driver remanded after knocking down man and his daughter

A driver who fled after knocking down a 14-year-old girl and her father at Urapola on June 10 was later arrested, and remanded until June 27 by the Attanagalla Magistrate yesterday.

The suspect van driver travelling from Kirindiwela towards Nittambuwa had hit the two at the Nagoda junction.

The girl’s leg had fractured at three points, while her father had injured his toes.

The suspect is a resident of Ambaraluwa, Weliweriya.

The Attanagalla Police are conducting investigations.
