Ambassador of United Arab Emirates based in Colombo Khaled Nasser Sulaiman AlAmeri paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Environment Hafiz Naseer Ahamed at the Ministry in Battaramulla on Thursday.
Speaking to the Daily News, Minister Ahamed said the talks were focused on bilateral partnership in environment-related activities and renewable energy programmes between the two countries.
The Minister took the opportunity of detailing the attractive investment opportunities available in Sri Lanka for a country such as the United Arab Emirates. The two parties also discussed matters on the supply of oil, tourism and other matters of mutual interests.
The Envoy invited the Minister to visit the UAE at a convenient time. Ministry Secretary Dr.Anil Jasinghe and former diplomat T.Z. Samsudeen were also present during the discussions.
