Twenty Seven year old, Lahiru Senaratne, an Old Boy of Trinity College, Kandy who left School after getting through the G.C.E.(A/L) in the Mathematics stream was a talented boxer of the school.

He was coached by Susantha Weerasena, a veteran Boxing Coach and Lahiru started his Boxing Career from the Grade Seven onwards. In the year 2008 he won his Weight Class at the L.V. Jayaweera Memorial Boxing Meet in the 41-43 Kg. Weight Class and in the same year he won a Bronze Medal in his Weight Class.

In the year 2008 and 2009 he won his weight class of 43-45 Kgs. at the All Island Schools Boxing Meet and at the Junior Nationals too he won his Weight Class in the year 2010 and 2011 and won Gold Medals in both years.

In the year 2012 he won the Gold Medal in the 46-49 Kg. Weight Class.

After leaving School he became One Star Boxing Coach when he followed a Course in Coaching of Boxing in New Zealand and he was able to follow a Course in Boxing for Three Months organized by the Ministry of Sports in Sri Lanka. Presently Lahiru is the Boxing Coach of Trinity College, Kandy and his intention is to produce top class Boxers from the School.

Being an Outstanding Boxer his main purpose is to produce Boxers of the calibre of Leslie Handunge of Trinity College who represented the Country at the Olympic Games.
