The Cabinet of Ministers has postponed the discussion on the 21st Amendment to the Constitution to next week, Cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardane said. Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing held yesterday at the Government Information Department, Minister Gunawardane said that the relevant proposal was presented to the Cabinet by Justice, Prison Reforms and Constitutional Affairs Minister, Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe on Monday (6).
The Minister had submitted the relevant proposal to Cabinet with the amendments made during the discussions with the Party leaders.
But the proposal was not approved and the Cabinet of Ministers and has proposed to include the amendments submitted by the political Parties and organizations and submit them to the next Cabinet meeting.
