Model agricultural villages to be set up in Batticaloa District

Model agricultural villages are to be established in the Batticaloa District. Under this scheme, Kannakipuram Village in the Palayadivaddai instructor division was inaugurated by the Batticaloa District Agriculture Department on Tuesday (24).The funds for this have been allocated by the Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath and agriculture equipment and necessary material for the products and by-products were handed over to the beneficiaries. This project is being implemented with organic manure. By this a green revolution in food production can be made for the non-toxic and healthy livelihood of the people. This project will also help to produce healthy foods for the entire nation and uplift their living standard. Batticaloa Government Agent K.Karunagaran was the chief guest at the function, where Director of Agriculture Batticaloa District P.Harikaran, Deputy Director S.Perinparaja, Poraitivu Pattu Assistant Divisional Secretary S.Thulajanan, Agriculture Instructor Gopi and Technical Officers were also present.
