Joint train, bus service for O/L exams

Transport facilities will be provided to candidates sitting for the GCE Ordinary Level examinations from Monday, Transport Board Chairman Kingsley Ranawaka and Railways Deputy General Manager V. S. Polwattage said.

Accordingly a joint mechanism will be implemented to provide the required volume of public transport facilities to the candidates. They said that on the request Examinations Department, both the SLTB and Railways Department will deploy more buses and trains during the examination period

“Additional busses will be deployed for candidates and examination staff,” Ranawaka said.

“Moves will be taken to run the trains on time to facilitate candidates,” Polwattage said. However he urged candidates to get an early train to the desired destination on the examination days to avoid probable train delays.
