CII EXCON South Asias’ Largest Construction Equipment Trade Fair gathers momentum

The Indian Construction Equipment  (ICE) Industry is poised for exponential growth in the coming decade said Dimitrov Krishnan, Co-Chairman of CII EXCON at the inauguration of the 11th edition of the event which is South Asia’s’ Largest Construction Equipment Trade Fair happening at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru. The event will conclude on May 21.

 EXCON will reflect on the theme elements at the exhibition and set the pace for an infrastructure development in the country.

Some of the new initiatives this year at EXCON includes; User Industry CEO’s Session; Special Focus on Alternate Fuels; Dedicated Finance Plaza; Women Operators at the Exhibition, Operating Machines; Focus on Aatma Nirbhar Bharat among others.

Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association is the Sector Partner and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways; National Highways Authority of India and Builders Association of India are the supporting Partners for EXCON. The event spreads over 3,00,000 square metres of display area and attracts over 800 exhibitors from India and countries like Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, UAE, UK and other countries. The 5-day exhibition would attract over 40,000 business visitors from all over the world.

As a special initiative, Women Building India- Equal Opportunity Awards were announced at the Inaugural Session of EXCON.  The objective of the Award is to recognize the companies from the infrastructure sector who had taken proactive steps to enable women to participate in the workforce.

 Concurrent to EXCON, CII will be organizing a series of sessions which includes; Conference on Infrastructure Requirements for Armed Forces: Emerging Opportunities and Smart Technology; Interactive Session with Director General, Border Road Organisation; Conference on AI, IOT and Automation in Construction Engineering Sector;  Conference on Green Buildings and Built Environment – Transforming Urban Scopes; Conference on Women in Construction - Challenges, Solutions and Way forward  besides Conference by ICEMA and BAI.
