Chief Government Whip and Urban Development and Housing Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said yesterday that he would personally intervene to provide justice for all those whose houses and properties were destroyed by mobs during the violence and protests that took place throughout the country after the Mirihana incident on March 31.
He further said that he has already discussed the matter with the President and the Prime Minister.
Violence and protests against the former Prime Minister and the Government spread across the country following the Mirihana incident on March 31.
“A large number of arson attacks targeting former Ministers, current MPs, Provincial Council and Local Government members and SLPP supporters have been reported across the country. Therefore, all information in this regard will be gathered and a speedy programme will be implemented to provide justice for the victims,” he added.
