Eastern Province Education Ministry Team emerged champions of the Eastern Provincial Cricket tournament when they won the final against Health Ministry team at the Sri Koneswara Hindu College Grounds in Trincomalee recently.
To mark the Tamil and Sinhala New Year Festival - 2022, a limited 10 over softball cricket tournament was held among the employees of the Departmental and Ministries of the Eastern Province. Local Bodies employees of the Eastern Province participated divided into twelve teams. The final match was played between the Education Ministry team and Health Ministry team.
Health Ministry Team bat first in the final and scored 44 runs for the loss of six wickets in 10 over’s. In reply Education Department team reached the target and scored 45/6 runs in the last ball.
